Available in Spain, Mexico and with our Latin American partner schools.
Home stay offers you a unique opportunity to experience Spanish or Latin American life while living in the home of a local Spanish speaking family. You’ll be speaking Spanish all the time, both for everyday tasks as well as for fun and joing in with family life. Accommodation in a host family allows you to get the most out of your language course as it gives you an unique insight into daily life in another culture.
About home stay:
- Your host "family" may be a family with parents and children or a single parent who takes in students because he or she enjoys the company. You wouldn’t be the first to go out on the town together, or to keep in contact with your family after your return home.
- You can choose from a room with breakfast, half-board (breakfast and a choice between a cooked meal in the afternoon at about two o’clock or light dinner at ten) or full-board (breakfast and two meals).
- You’ll eat at local hours - usually later than you may be used to. You’ll also eat local food, although the family will take your preferences into account as much as possible.
- You will be given your own keys, so you can come and go as you please. You will be able to receive phone calls at the family home.

Available in Spain and Guanajuato, Mexico
You can choose to share a student flat with four or five don Quijote students. In a student flat you’ll prepare your own meals and mix with don Quijote students of all ages and backgrounds. We recommend you all agree to speak Spanish in the flat; speaking other shared languages often means that students do not practise their Spanish enough.
About shared student flats:
- While rooms in student flats may not be very luxurious, they do all include these basic facilities: a bed, table or desk, chair and a wardrobe.
- Each student flat has a living room with TV, a fully equipped kitchen, a washing machine and an iron.
- Telephones are not available in student flats; we suggest you use public telephones or local calling centres.
- The kitchen and bathroom are shared, and you are all expected to keep the house clean. Shared areas are professionally cleaned once a week.
