This will allow you to choose an activity in which you can live Spanish more intensely and provide you with a sense of identity and attachment to the city you'll study in: you can scuba dive in Tenerife, learn Flamenco dance in Granada, wine taste in Salamanca and much more...

Golden Age

Want to study Spanish in a group your age and get to know and enjoy the Spanish way of life? You can do it with our Golden Age program, a course specially designed for our students over 50, on the beautiful island of Tenerife. 

The aim of this course is to provide situations in which you can immerse yourself in Spanish culture with confidence and enjoyment, and to give you a chance to practice Spanish with your teacher. You will have daily Spanish classes combined with cultural classes and 2 weeks of activities and excursions to complete the program in Tenerife.

The Golden Age program includes visits to the most interesting places in Tenerife and special classes on Spanish history, art, politics and culture, as well as dancing lessons where you can learn Salsa and Merengue.

Scuba Diving in Tenerife

Combine your intensive Spanish course at don Quijote Tenerife with scuba diving lessons! You may combine the scuba diving course with any of our language courses and accommodation choices. The diving course itself consists of 2 weeks of half-day lessons, at either Beginner or Advanced level.

The beginner scuba diving course is for students with no prior diving experience. This course will prepare you for the PADI open water diver certificate. Under the supervision of a professional PADI instructor you will learn all the basic skills and theory needed for diving, during the first immersions in the swimming pool and open water you will start to enjoy diving more and more. The advanced diving program is for students who are already certified Open Water Divers (PADI). Having completed all the theory beforehand, this program includes more immersion time than the beginners' course and prepares you for obtaining the Advanced Open Water Diver certificate.

You should not take this course if you suffer from: heart trouble, asthma, chronic lung obstruction or other pulmonary problems, diabetes or hearing difficulties.

Wine Tasting Course in Salamanca

The objective of this course is for you to learn Learn Spanish while getting to know and learning to evaluate various Spanish wines, their history, the different production processes and their economic and social importance in Spain. You will learn how to taste wine while you learn about the characteristics of Spanish wines from the many and diverse regions of Spain.

This 2-week program combines an intensive Spanish language course with specialized wine tasting classes. You will have four daily Intensive Spanish classes in the morning or afternoon from Monday to Friday plus wine tasting classes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

All the written and audio-visual material is included in the price: videos, guides and reference book. Additionally the school may organize an excursion to a wine museum (not included in the price).

Cooking Course in Salamanca

This course combines the learning of Spanish while enjoying cooking Spanish or Mexican cuisine! In this course, you will complement your Intensive Spanish course with your specialized cooking class hours.

The cooking course must be combined with an Intensive Spanish course (20+5 hours/week) in don Quijote Salamanca or don Quijote Guanajuato. In Salamanca, the cooking classes take place twice a week for 2 weeks on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6.00pm to 8.00pm. You will learn to prepare Spanish "tortilla", "sangria", "tapas" and of course sample your new recipes.

In Guanajuato, the 1 week course is adapted to the necessities of its interested students since the course can only be booked directly with the school

The cooking course includes ingredients, tasting and discussion. The cuisine teacher is a professional teacher of culinary arts.

Spend your Christmas Holidays in Spain or Mexico!

Have you ever wondered how Christmas and New Year’s are celebrated in Spain or Mexico? Here’s your chance to find out when you celebrate the holidays with as much warmth as you do back home - and you learn Spanish!

Your classmates will be students of other nationalities who want to learn Spanish and are also looking to experience Christmas and New Years in a different culture. Together, you can look forward to enjoying the Three Wise Men parades on the streets of every Spanish city or taking part in the house-to-house pilgrimage of Las Posadas in Mexico.

Enhance your Spanish language experience when you participate in our daily Spanish cultural activities or when you sign up for our optional guided excursions to nearby places of interest. Make friends of other cultures and learn Spanish as you live and practice the language with the locals during this special time of year.

This year, we’ve added the Christmas course to the curriculum of all of don Quijote Spanish schools. You have 7 destinations to choose from: Barcelona, Granada, Madrid, Salamanca, Tenerife or Valencia in Spain; or Guanajuato in Mexico. Choose 1 or 2 week courses and enjoy a Spanish or Mexican Christmas!

Arabic Culture Course in Granada

The aim of this course is to allow you to plunge into the fascinating world of Arab culture.

Granada was an important part of the Arabic world for 800 years and still holds traces of its Arab past in its heart, culture and in the architecture of the city.

This Spanish and specialization course in Granada consists of a 3 week Spanish course + 9 hours of classes on Arabic culture.

Flamenco

Ever wonder what the “Spanish Passion” is all about? Would you like to express that passion with the body and not just with words? Our schools in don Quijote Granada and don Quijote Madrid offer you the opportunity to take a Spanish course and also learn the art of the most famous Spanish dance: Flamenco.

With its “cante” (folk song), guitar and dance, flamenco is a fusion of the different musical styles of southern Spain. Its origins are uncertain yet strongly maintain deep roots within Andalusia’s gypsy community, who expanded their culture throughout Andalusia and the rest of Spain. Madrid’s cosmopolitan character eventually catapulted flamenco into becoming an international art phenomenon.

Our Spanish schools in Granada and Madrid provide you with a special course consisting of 20 hours a week of Intensive Spanish combined with 8 hours a week of Flamenco Dance. The flamenco course is flexible and its content adapt to students’ schedules and language level in order to get the most out of the class and also have fun. The course is taught by teachers who are professionals in the art of Flamenco dance, and will adapt to your dance level whether you’ve studied Flamenco in the past or not. The flamenco classes of don Quijote Madrid will be taught in an Academy that specializes in flamenco dance.

This course is the perfect combination: you’ll have fun learning the Spanish language as you will learning to dance flamenco. Express yourself the way the Spaniards do by releasing the “duende” within you - the inspiration, the heart, the courage - and transfer those soulful feelings back to the people through dance. Spanish +History, Art and Literature in Granada and Guanajuato

Sign up for a Spanish course and a History, Art & Literature course at our don Quijote schools in Granada and Guanajuato! The course is geared towards students who are eager to extend their knowledge on the historical and cultural aspects of Spain and Latin America.  It is taught by university graduate, native Spanish-speaking professors who possess profound knowledge in the history, art and literature fields. All classes are held entirely in Spanish.

The course consists of 2 hours of daily Intensive Spanish and 2 hours of daily specialization history, art or literature classes. Specialization classes will focus on the past historical events, important literary generations and their particular works, or art which are fundamental in providing the student a deep understanding of Spain and Latin America.

These courses are offered in 2 don Quijote destinations:

don Quijote Granada will focus on the history, art or literature OF SPAIN. The course will uncover the reality of present-day Spanish society by focusing on a series of important historical, artistic or literary units of the past. The thoroughness of these units will reinforce the students’ Spanish skills by enhancing listening comprehension and vocabulary.

don Quijote Guanajuato will focus on the history, art or literature OF MEXICO AND LATIN AMERICA. The objective of this course is not only to support the learning of the Spanish language, but also to learn the different cultural aspects of Latin America, in particular, that of Mexico. This course provides an in-depth analysis of the historical, literary, political and social aspects that are fundamental to understand the richness of Latin America.
