About your teacher
Mónica Romero Camps is the founder and director of Spanish Homestay Immersion, a division of Spanish Express. She’s Spanish of Argentinian descent and was lucky enough to grow up on the most amazing island on Earth, Menorca.
Mónica has lived in London for 27 years, the city which she fell in love with on her first visit when she was only 14 years old. She currently lives between Spain and the UK to get the best of both worlds.
“In my teaching practice, I place a huge emphasis on the importance of immersion in the language and culture, through games, sports, films, music, books and simple but rich conversations.
I strongly believe that culture and language are inextricably linked and that a complete understanding of a language cannot be achieved without a thorough knowledge of the culture from which it springs”.

Spanish gastronomy
We will be visiting Spanish restaurants, and tasting Crema Catalana, a sweet dish, served cold, with a refreshing, tantalising flavour, the ideal way to cap a traditional Catalan lunch!
Want to try some Fideuà? It’s similar to a seafood paella, but instead of rice, it’s cooked with noodles!
Together we will close the evening with a Pa amb tomàquet, the Spanish version of bruschetta. Fresh bread rubbed with garlic and fresh tomato, seasoned with olive oil, salt, and pepper… is your mouth watering already?
