As a teacher dedicated to teaching Spanish with Spanish Express, I welcome students from across the world every week to experience a carefully designed Spanish immersion for small group, individuals, families, and couples in Spain
Our program is created for different ages and levels, from beginner to advanced, combining structured lessons, engaging classes, and real-life conversations. This is for everyone, from individuals to small groups or families.

Unlike online Spanish classes or even traditional Spanish schools, our approach focuses on full Spanish immersion, where students actively learn Spanish through experience. Each course follows a flexible schedule, allowing learners to progress at their own pace while improving communication skills, fluency, pronunciation, and overall language skills.
This summer, during the same week, I hosted Sofia and Flora, two passionate students who joined our Spanish Homestay Immersion Program (SHIP) to strengthen their Spanish language and gain real confidence in speaking Spanish.

Meet Sofia & Flora: Young Learners Passionate About Languages
Sofia and Flora are Italian students who share a strong passion for language, travel, and cultural discovery. Despite living in different countries, they reunite every summer to join study abroad programs and improve their skills. They had already taken Spanish classes in school, but they wanted more than traditional Spanish courses or online Spanish courses.
Their goal was to improve their speaking, expand their vocabulary, and develop real communication skills. They chose this destination in Spain because our Spanish programs offer small groups, private classes, and authentic cultural immersion, helping students connect deeply with the language and local culture.

Daily Spanish Immersion and Real Conversations
From the first day, Sofia and Flora were surrounded by the Spanish language. Their weekly schedule included conversations at home, during meals, and while travelling, creating constant opportunities to speak and learn. This type of Spanish immersion enabled them to engage in real conversations, significantly improving their fluency and confidence.
Unlike online Spanish classes, this experience encouraged natural interaction. Making a mistake became part of the process, helping them improve their comprehension and communication. Because the program is structured per week, students quickly develop stronger language skills while enjoying the process.

Structured Lessons: Grammar, Vocabulary, and Communication Skills
Alongside immersion, we followed a structured course with focused lessons. We worked on grammar, verb tenses, and vocabulary, supported by targeted exercises that improved both writing and speaking. These classes were designed to help students develop strong communication skills and a deeper understanding of the language.
Through a combination of group classes and private lessons, Sofia and Flora progressed at their own pace. This balanced approach allowed them to strengthen their skills while receiving professional guidance. Compared to larger Spanish schools in cities like Madrid or Malaga, our small classes provide a more personalized learning experience.

Cooking Paella: Culture, Language, and Fun
Cooking paella was one of the most memorable experiences of the week and a perfect example of true cultural immersion. Together with local friends, Sofia and Flora followed each step of the recipe while actively speaking Spanish. They learned new vocabulary related to ingredients and cooking techniques while engaging in natural conversations.
This activity showed them that learning a language is not limited to the classroom. Instead, it becomes part of everyday life. Through this fun and interactive experience, their confidence and fluency improved significantly.

Exploring Valencia: Language in Real-Life Context
Exploring Valencia’s historic center allowed Sofia and Flora to connect with Spanish culture while practicing their speaking skills. As we visited landmarks, they described places, compared ideas, and engaged in meaningful conversations. This helped them improve their fluency, vocabulary, and overall communication skills.

Being in a Spanish-speaking country, compared to places in Latin America, gave them a broader understanding of the language. Unlike online Spanish courses, this real-life context helped them learn faster and more effectively.

Nature and Activities: Learning Beyond the Classroom
Outdoor activities played an important role in the program. From cycling through Turia Gardens to visiting the Navajas waterfall, each experience encouraged spontaneous speaking and interaction. These activities allowed the students to practice Spanish naturally while enjoying nature.

Learning outside the classroom helped them build confidence and develop stronger communication skills. This type of immersion supports learning at one’s own pace, making the experience both effective and enjoyable.

Sports and Interaction: Tennis Sessions
During tennis sessions with a professional instructor, Sofia and Flora experienced how learning Spanish can happen through physical activity. They followed instructions, asked questions, and interacted fully in Spanish, improving their pronunciation, listening, and speaking skills.
This combination of sport and learning made the experience dynamic and engaging. It also showed that language learning does not have to be limited to traditional classes or lessons.

Cultural Experiences: San Juan Night and Beach Life
Celebrating San Juan Night was one of the most unforgettable moments of the week. Surrounded by traditions, music, and the sea, Sofia and Flora experienced authentic Spanish culture. They interacted with locals, practiced speaking, and participated in meaningful traditions.
The highlight was jumping seven waves at midnight, a moment filled with excitement and reflection. Experiences such as this help students connect emotionally with the language, making learning more impactful and memorable.
A Week of Growth and Confidence
By the end of the week, Sofia and Flora had significantly improved their Spanish language fluency and confidence. Their communication skills improved, and they felt more comfortable speaking Spanish in real-life situations.
This Spanish immersion program showed them that learning a language is not just about grammar or exercises, but about living it.
